I am a Crane and Co. Enthusiast

July 6, 2012

My name is Ashantai Yungai and I … am a Crane & Co. Enthusiast.  Not sure what a Crane & Co. Enthusiast is? The Crane & Co. Enthusiast: can tell the difference between letterpress and engravedowns a nice pen;  possesses a stationery stash (and the stationery is exclusively Crane’s); and delights in details like wax seals.  George Clooney is a Crane & Co. Enthusiast.  Cate Blanchett is a Crane & Co. Enthusiast.  Leonardo DiCaprio is a Crane & Co. Enthusiast.  Zooey Deschanel is a Crane & Co. Enthusiast.  I am certain you are Crane & Co. Enthusiast.

Being a Crane & Co. Enthusiast, I have had the great pleasure, privilege, and honor of being featured on Crane and Co.’s blog Post Script.  It was very fun answering the questions.  But when I saw and read the post on the blog this past Tuesday, my eyes watered with ebulliently ecstatic emotions!!!  I was especially excited that my 2-week, 1000 Envelopes Journey was mentioned in the intro.  And the ‘secret sauce’?  It is nothing more than Love, Passion, and Practice.  As Albert Einstein said, “I have no special talents.  I am only passionately curious.”  So, here’s to all the Crane and Co. Enthusiast!  Love. Be Passionate. And…. WRITE ON!

Featuring: Distinctive Inscriptions Calligraphy

November 29, 2011

I love meeting cool people!  They make life so much more fun!  I met so many at WedSmith.  One such person is Carissa Uribe!  She is a wonderful photographer who captures the natural essence of her clients!  (But don’t just take my word for it!  Check out her artistry on her website.)  In a short time we connected. We both like music, writing, weddings….but here’s BIG the connection: we both LOVE cheesecake! =)  Check out what she had to say and how she made me, in the words of Billy Crystal, “…look MAHVELOUS!”

Culinary Crafts Blog Featuring Distinctive Inscriptions Calligraphy

October 24, 2011

I’m overwhelmingly thrilled to be featured on the blog of CulinaryCrafts. WOW!  Culinary Crafts is only the top in the best catering business in the state of Utah (It is the only 9-time winner of Best of State in Utah).  If you have been lucky enough to have tasted their foods and drinks, you know you have tasted food heaven!

I was very honored and privileged to meet the Legendary Mary Crafts-Homer at WedSmith 2011.  Her wisdom and wit was on full display during the lunch/Q&A period of the seminar.  It was wholly evident to me why her catering services are top-notch and in high demand.  One of the attendees asked a question regarding being the biggest vs. the best.  The panelist deferred to Mrs. Crafts-Homer, as she had 28+ years of industry experience.  I do not remember how she started in answering the question but I do remember how she finished it: “Don’t focus on being the biggest. Focus on being the best! If you’re the best everybody comes to you!”  Astounded by those words, I was compelled to get to know her better.  I realized her time might be limited.  I sent her an email requesting to meet with her at her earliest convenience. I had a letter that I wanted to personally give.  We met shortly thereafter and had a most wonderful and pleasant conversation.  She offered to feature me on Culinary Crafts’ Blog, it which I immediately accepted.  We have since  become ‘kindred spirits’.  Thank You Mary!

Here is that feature! :-) Take a look:
